Holidays

We are close to getting out for the summer, and like always it's time to plan my vacation.
Besides going to Holland, I decided to attend the World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain.
It's an event, organized by Christians all around the world, that is happening every four years all around the world. The last one, for example, was in Sidney, Australia. But what is so important and exciting about that???
Just imagine the following situation: You have thousands and thousands of young Christians praying, laughing and celebrating the life of Jesus. People, from all around the world are living together for a time and nobody really cares about how much money you have or where you are from.
I remember the World Youth Day 2005 in Cologne, the first experiences with it. It shows how lively the church and especially the youth is!!!
So, I'm already way excited to first go to Barcelona and than to Madrid. And not only have fun with my friends, but getting to know and feel the holy spirit again :)

Who of you is gonna be there??? And what experiences did you have?

Easter

Today we celebrate the day Jesus Christ rose from the dead. You think it's impossible? Well, i know it sounds weird and crazy that there was this guy who was crucified and dead, but who still was seen walking and talking to people. For me it's just amazing, because it shows the eternity of our souls!

The last couple of days we were preparing for the resurection of Jesus Christ. In my church we had a couple of nice events, like plays that showed the pain, sorrow and desperation of Jesus. After all, it showed to us that he was human!
Easter for me is the biggest proof of trinity you can find. In just a few days, he went through the most terrifying things anyone could imagine! When i told the story of esus death, someone once asked me: Why did he do that? Why would someone die for people he doesn't know, why didn't he tell Pilate to let him go?
It was such a moving question to me because it reassured me in the believe that Jesus died for all of us including myself personally, and how often do you have someone dieing gor you?

Another question i was asked, and never understand myself when i was younger, was why Easter is more important than christmas. I mean, we get presents on christmas and not on easter. We celebrate with our entire family and during easter, some families don't even care if they are together or not.  But growing more and more in faith, studying the word and becoming more and more secure about what I believe I came to slowly understand why.
The resurection of Jesus Christ is the foundation of our faith. Of course, if Jesus wouldn't have been born we couldn't celebrate his resurection, but seeing my savior on hanging at the cross just makes it personally. He die for ME!!!! he was born to die for us, it was his destiny to die for our sins. He died so we are forgiven!
So we need to celebrate this, because even if you aren't a believer, you have to admit that it's pretty damn cool that there was a guy that died but came to life again ;)

So, celebrate, be happy because we are forgiven! He died for us on the cross, so we can live!

Happy Easter everybody :)
